How do biometric time clocks work?
Biometrics have changed how employee data is captured
Our biometric time clocks give you increased security and increased accuracy through Lumidigm multispectral sensors. These use fingerprint templates that are stored as algorithms, instead of storing actual fingerprints, which protects employee privacy. Biometric time clocks prevent anyone borrowing an entry card to clock in for another employee, too, and gets rid of any issues around lost cards or fobs.
A contactless solution
Proximity time clocks
These allow employees to clock in and out using a contactless proximity fob or a swipe card. These clocking stations also allow employees to check their flexible working balance and view previous clockings. All clockings are communicated to the central database, and the internal memory allows it to keep functioning normally even if the connection is lost.

Tracking time and attendance is simple
Aside from our proximity and biometric time clock options, there are also multiple ways your workforce can clock in and out with our time and attendance solution.
The self-service option is a web-based application that allows employees to clock in and out, managing their time online. This application lets employees request time off and clock onto specific jobs or tasks through the Time Allocation System (TAS). Managers can approve vacations and see real-time data on their employees’ work records. With web-based clocking, there’s no new software installation necessary.
Mobile phone clocking
Our time and attendance software allows employees to track their own clockings and more from any location using a web-enabled smartphone/tablet at any time. For more details on this, please see our mobile workforce section.
Outlook email clocking
This Outlook add-in allows your workforce to clock in and out directly through their email. It allows them to seamlessly interact with certain time and attendance features all from the comfort of their inbox. They can view recent clockings, hours allocated to certain projects, and submit vacation requests. Managers are also able to see the on-site list, approve requests and synchronise the absence profile with the Outlook calendar.
